About the Event
Swing for the fences: You’re invited to join fellow YPO families in Mazatlán, Mexico for a powerful, perspective-shifting experience that combines service, family bonding, and intentional gratitude.
This unique trip is designed for members and their families to step outside of their daily routines, serve alongside a local community, and create memories that will stay with your children for a lifetime.
Event Highlights
🛠️ Build Day(s): Helping Create Homes for Low-Income Families
We’ll partner with a local organization in Mazatlán to help build safe, durable homes for families in need. Under the guidance of experienced staff, adults and age-appropriate children will:
- Help with hands-on construction tasks
- Meet and work alongside local families
- Learn the stories behind the homes we’re helping to build
No construction experience is required—just a willingness to work, to learn, and to care.
🌎 Perspective & Connection
During our time in the local neighborhood, families will see firsthand how others live with far fewer resources—and yet often with remarkable resilience, joy, and community.
Guided conversations and reflections will help our kids (and us) process what we’re seeing and feeling in a thoughtful, respectful way.
🌅 Relocating for Reflection: Experiencing the Contrast
After our build days, we will transition to a more comfortable area of Mazatlán, to rest, recharge, and reflect together.
This intentional shift is meant to:
- Highlight the juxtaposition between the living conditions we’ve just experienced and the comforts we normally enjoy
- Deepen our sense of gratitude for what we have
- Encourage ongoing conversations about service, generosity, and responsibility within our families
